The 12th Dutch Classic Yacht Regatta will be held from Wednesday 27 up to and including Sunday 31 July 2011 with regatta sailing from the port of Hellevoetsluis on the Haringvliet. Prior to the regatta there will again be various feeder convoys and cruises in company as well as a ‘Channel Race’ from England. Preparations are in full swing. Parties interested in financial or in ‘natura’ sponsoring are invited to contact the committee.
DVD SCYR 2009
Activities during the SCYR 2009 have been filmed by various camera crews. A compilation has been burned on a DVD and is for sale at € 25, – ea. The film presents a relaxed view of the various activities rather than a detailed report. Orders via info@dcyr.nl
‘Huisje-Bootje-Beestje’ (Little house-little Boat-little Pet) will sponsor the DCYR again
‘Huisje-Bootje-Beestje’ manned one of the stands on the nautical market during the DCYR 2009. They will do so again in 2011 presenting their line of maritime and nautical products such as materials, bed, bath and kitchen textiles, cushions, pillows, decorations, serviettes, napkins, haberdashery, toys, beach textiles etc. This is what your boat has been waiting for over the past two years.
Nautical market 30 and 31 July
Rexwinkel Jachtbouw sponsor in ‘natura’
Again in 2011 unfortunate participants can count on ‘sweeper boat’ service by Rexwinkel Jachtbouw. Damage sustained during racing and/or leaving and/or entering the harbour, in any case, during the DCYR, will be repaired on the spot or an emergency repair will be executed. The first two working hours will not be charged. Rexwinkel and his men were fairly busy with their trade during the 2009 regatta. Reactions were very positive on this quirky sponsoring activity. Unfortunately they did not manage to repair the mast of ‘Carribbee’ in time.
Let’s try to avoid the necessity of their assistance.
Ventis Scheepstimmerwerk latest sponsor
Ventis Scheepstimmerwerk located in Enkhuizen supports the 12th Dutch Classic Yacht Regatta financially as well as by donating a beautiful prize for the overall Line Honours Winner. Last year this well-known firm commissioned CNC equipment that enables them to machine frames, moulds , name plates, half models and deck and fishing (parts) very efficiently.
They wish to commemorate this event by presenting a beautiful wooden half model to the winner of the overall line honours prize. This challenge trophee will be completed with an engraved plate mentioning the details of the Line Honours Winner of the Year.
Ventis will present themselves this year with a company presentation and . . keep an eye out for their very classic delivery van.
‘Zeilen’ joins us!
Great idea! ‘Zeilen’ magazine, Holland’s most widely read maritime magazine on sailing will be devoting extensive attention to the 12th Dutch Classic Yacht Regatta. A reporter and photographer will be covering the racing from their own RIB, while ashore participants and staff will be interviewed.
Oldest participating boat registered
The gaff rigged Bawley ‘Moonflower’ (ex ‘Rose’) built in 1848 has registered and will be the oldest participating boat. Between 1988 and 1998 the ex- British Navy pilot cutter has been completely restored by owner Willem Nauta. ‘Moonflower’ was also the oldest participant during the 2005, 2007 and 2009 DCYRs.
